HR, People & Operations Manager

We need someone to be our right hand in India when the directors aren't there. You'd look after the Delhi and Chennai offices day to day, lead the hiring, and be the person everyone comes to when something needs sorting. The team is new, so you'd be shaping how it works and what it's like to be part of it from early on. It's a varied job that suits someone who enjoys having a lot on.

ABOUT INTERIORS WITH ART

Interiors With Art has been designing and building luxury homes, palaces and hotels for 24 years, for private clients around the world. We've recently opened offices in Delhi and Chennai and set up a joint venture with Sotheby's International Realty India, and the team here is growing quickly. Behind the scenes we're changing how the business runs too. We build a lot of our own technology and we want people who'll help us keep improving how we work.

We like people who question things. If something has always been done one way and you can see a better way, we want to hear about it. It's a fun team to be part of and people work hard. Things move quickly because we're growing and changing at the same time.

We're happy to try new software, and if it makes the work better or quicker, we keep it. There's not much hierarchy and very little corporate process, so ideas get heard whoever they come from. You'll work with team both in India and abroad

We're not a hierarchical company and we don't like bureaucracy. We'd like someone who sets up simple, sensible people processes rather than bringing in a corporate rulebook.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Keep the Delhi and Chennai offices running well day to day, from office management to administration.

Lead recruitment from sourcing and screening through to onboarding.

Build the team and its culture as we grow, including hiring and managing more junior staff in future.

Work closely with the directors and our London office so everyone stays connected, informed and moving.

Build relationships across the industry to strengthen our network and our talent pipeline in India.

Support the directors with local admin and practical tasks in India.

Keep finding ways to make HR admin and office management simpler, using dashboards, automations and AI tools wherever they help.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

At least 3 to 5 years' experience in HR, people or operations.

Ideally a background in design, architecture, real estate or luxury, so you can recruit confidently on the ground.

Start-up or small team experience is a plus (though not essential). You'll be used to wearing several hats at once.

Very strong with Microsoft 365, especially Outlook and SharePoint.

Highly organised, proactive and calm when lots is happening at once.

Keen to build a modern people function, not a traditional corporate one.
