About the Role
At Toll Group, we do more than just logistics. We move the businesses that move the world. We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to support our Government & Defence division, partnering with leaders across a diverse operational workforce. This is a hands-on role where you'll provide commercially focused people solutions, lead employee relations matters, support workforce planning and talent initiatives, and help drive culture, engagement and organisational change within a highly regulated environment. You'll thrive in a fast-paced setting where you can build trusted relationships, influence leaders and deliver practical people outcomes.
A day in the life of a HR Business Partner at Toll Group
- Partner with operational and functional leaders to support business and workforce priorities.
- Coach leaders on performance, conduct, attendance and employee engagement matters.
- Manage employee relations cases including grievances, performance concerns and workplace conflict.
- Support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and retention activities.
- Contribute to organisational change, engagement and culture initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, policies and governance requirements.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business or a related discipline.
- Experience in an HR Business Partner or senior HR advisory role.
- Experience supporting both blue-collar and white-collar workforce groups.
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial instruments.
- Experience in Government, Defence, logistics, transport or similar regulated environments is desirable.
- Ability to meet role-specific security, probity and customer access requirements.
Skills & Experience
- Proven employee relations and case management capability.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and preparing defensible documentation.
- Strong coaching, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice.
- Strong judgement, risk awareness and ability to work autonomously.
- Adaptable, proactive and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
