With centres of expertise across policy and planning, compensation design, compensation advisory, and acquisition and divestiture activity, we develop and customize base salary, cash incentive, and equity compensation programs, annually review salary structures, and conduct market research to develop and validate our policies and programs.

Job Description

As a valued member of the Compensation team supporting Human Resources, the HR M&A Advisor will report to the Senior Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions, Compensation Advisory. This role will be accountable for working both independently and with the Senior Manager to support TD's M&A commitments globally, including acquisitions, divestitures and other strategic transactions, and to provide analytical, project and execution support for priority Compensation and Total Rewards initiatives and special projects as required.

The role will provide professional research, complex and often non-standard analytics, modelling, project management and implementation support to inform key decisions. The nature and mix of assignments will vary based on M&A activity and evolving business and Compensation priorities, requiring the incumbent to move effectively between transaction-related work and other high-priority initiatives. Conduct detailed due diligence, research and analysis across Compensation and other Total Rewards programs to identify key considerations, risks, costs and opportunities and support informed transaction decisions.

Apply detailed knowledge of compensation fundamentals, including market intelligence, market pricing, job and level structures, compensation plan evaluation, performance programs, cash incentives and equity programs.

Develop and apply an understanding of benefits, pension and retirement programs to support integrated HR and Total Rewards assessments.

Perform complex, non-standard analytics and develop recommendations that influence key decisions, including employee and FTE costing estimates, implementation costs, scenario analysis and financial impacts.

Prepare quantitative and qualitative assessments of acquisition and divestiture opportunities across relevant HR programs, including compensation, job level structures, benefits, retirement programs and other reward programs.

Create complex models, business cases, executive presentations and decision materials that distill large amounts of information into clear findings, options, risks and recommendations.

Support the implementation and delivery of transaction-related commitments, including coordination of required activities, tracking of decisions and dependencies, and escalation of risks or issues.

Support priority Compensation and Total Rewards initiatives and special projects as required, providing flexible capacity for complex research, analysis, modelling, project management and execution support based on evolving business needs.

Manage a portfolio of M&A commitments and special projects, flexing priorities and capacity in response to transaction timelines, emerging business requirements and Compensation priorities.

Work independently on smaller transactions and assignments, with oversight and direction on larger, higher-risk or more complex transactions and projects.

Build strong relationships and effective working alliances with HR Business Partners, Total Rewards subject matter experts, Corporate Development, business leaders and other key partners.

Interact with and influence senior audiences by presenting fact-based conclusions and recommendations clearly and confidently.

Monitor internal and external trends relevant to M&A, Compensation and Total Rewards and assess potential implications for transactions, programs and special projects.
