SUMMARY
Provides administrative and operational support to Human Resources. Maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, discretion and attention to detail due to the sensitive nature of the tasks performed on a daily basis. Coordinates day to day human resource operations by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Serve as a resource for employees regarding routine HR, benefits, leave and personnel questions.
Assist Program Directors with HR related personnel issues.
Work independently and follow written instructions.
Helps to maintain the confidential agency HRIS system.
Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat on a daily basis to generate reports and process digital personnel documentation.
Maintains applicant tracking and distribution of applications to Program Directors
Schedules and conducts interviews.
Completes required candidate checks prior to hire.
Conducts new employee orientation.
Prepare and distribute new-hire paperwork and employment forms.
Administers employee benefit enrollment or changes such as life, health, dental insurances, vision insurances, retirement, etc. for employees.
Assist with all Open Enrollment requirements.
Assist with the assignment and tracking of employee trainings.
Assist with the performance review process.
Family Medical Leave Act/Leave of Absence administration.
Assist with employee termination and resignation procedures.
Completes employment verification requests.
Processes background checks as required for Program compliance.
Assist with monitoring/auditing requests for personnel information.
Attend meetings, trainings and Job Fairs as needed.
Back-up HR Director in their absence.
Assist with various Human Resources projects
Ability to maintain poise and self-control in crisis situations.
Ability to communicate with and be sensitive to the needs of people of various backgrounds.
Exhibits excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
Ability to focus and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with other agencies and to be cooperative in managing referrals.
Makes good use of time and acts professionally and responsibly in all work areas.
Capable of being able to maintain a professional relationship with all entities of people (staff, Board Members, officials, and the general public).
Any and all other duties as assigned by the Human Resource Director or Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to maintain strict confidentiality, handle multiple priorities and perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate Degree required in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Bachelor’s Degree from college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; Minimum or 3 years professional experience in HR support or employee services.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Required to receive all certifications, licensing and registrations, as assigned by immediate supervisor or the Executive Director.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work is performed primarily in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
Travel is required in and out of the service area.
