About Moment Energy

Independent energy is here. Help us deploy it.

Energy should be free. Free from aging grids, fragile supply chains, and unnecessary extraction. At Moment Energy, we’re building a world where clean power is abundant, affordable, and uninterrupted for everyone.

The world doesn’t need another promise about energy; it needs proof that a freer future is possible. Moment Energy is the pragmatic liberator of power, the only company certified to turn the largest untapped energy supply into independent energy.

Now is the moment. While the industry scraps millions of batteries with decades of life left, we put them to work by repurposing large-format batteries into advanced battery energy storage systems that deliver real-world impact.

We were told second-life batteries would never be safe enough or scalable enough. We didn’t argue, we engineered the solution. Today, Moment Energy delivers 5x the energy density and holds the certifications required to deploy energy independence at scale.

Now is the moment. Join us.

Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding, including mandatory shop-floor safety certifications (WHMIS, battery handling, SOPs), equipment setup, and offboarding workflows.

Support the administration of employee benefits, leave, vacation, and partner with Finance to ensure smooth bi-weekly payroll coordination, timecard tracking, and leave sync.

Maintain and update employee handbooks, HR policies, procedures, and job compensation benchmarks as the company scales.

Track work permit renewals, visa documentation, and immigration processes for international team members in partnership with legal counsel.

Health, Safety & Workplace Compliance

Serve as an employer representative or administrator for the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) in compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations.

Coordinate WorkSafeBC claims, workplace injury reporting, incident documentation, and modified return-to-work plans.

Support overall compliance with BC employment standards, workplace health and safety requirements, and company safety policies.

Employee Relations & Manager Support

Serve as an approachable point of contact for employees and managers on day-to-day HR questions, workplace concerns, and policy interpretation.

Support employee relations matters, including workplace conflicts, attendance concerns, complaints, and disciplinary processes.

Guide managers through performance concerns, documentation, difficult conversations, and appropriate next steps.

Help foster a respectful, welcoming, and safe workplace where employees feel comfortable raising concerns.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

Support our Talent Acquisition Lead as-needed with recruitment efforts for open roles, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and co-op/student program coordination.

Prepare employment offers, employment agreements, and onboarding packages.

Performance Management & Employee Development

Coordinate performance review cycles, including timelines, communications, documentation, and follow-up.

Support managers with performance improvement plans, employee feedback, and performance documentation.

Coordinate manager growth initiatives and leadership development training (e.g., effective coaching, conducting reviews, giving feedback).

Help maintain clear, consistent processes for promotions, role changes, and employee development.

Identify recurring employee or manager needs and recommend practical improvements to HR processes.

The Candidate

We’re looking for individuals with the following traits, skills, and experiences:

5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a growing technology, manufacturing, or startup environment.

Hands-on experience managing day-to-day HR operations, employee relations, and employment documentation.

Strong working knowledge of BC employment standards and applicable HR compliance requirements.

Experience supporting performance reviews, disciplinary processes, performance improvement plans, and manager coaching.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with employees and managers at all levels.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

A practical, solutions-oriented mindset and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get things done.

Experience in manufacturing, hardware, or clean tech is an asset.
