Hygienist - Primary Care Eastland

Hours: 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday

OHASP licensure is required

Job Description Summary:

Provides oral health care, dental health education, and remediable intraoral procedures to patients in the hospital clinic.

Job Description:

• Essential Functions:
• •Examines patients' teeth and gums to identify any oral health issues.
• •Cleans teeth by removing plaque, tartar, and stains.
• •Educates patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provides advice on diet and lifestyle choices that can impact oral health.
• •Administers local anesthesia and applies cavity-preventive agents such as fluoride and sealants.
• •Takes and develops dental X-rays to help diagnose dental problems.
• •Keeps detailed patient records and maintains a clean and sterile work environment.

• Education Requirement:
• •Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene school, required.
• •Bachelor's Degree, preferred.

• Licensure Requirement:
• •Licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, required.
• •Passed the National Boards, required.
• •Passed the Northeast Regional Boards, required.

Certifications: Certified in CPR, required.

• Skills:
• •Robust communication skills, required.
• •Demonstrates ability to treat and teach healthy and medically compromised patients.
• •Possesses strong manual dexterity.

Experience: Six months of relevant experience, preferred.
