- Execute the design, analysis and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and program / product requirements.
- Cross functional knowledge of high-speed fluid dynamic, mechanical systems and thermal response and application to rapid development of prototype hypersonic propulsion systems
- Develop mechanical systems from proof-of-concept to final manufacturable component using 3D CAD
- Perform analyses ranging from classical textbook methods and 1D spreadsheet calculations to Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations to predict structural, thermal, and/or fluidic behavior of systems/components.
- Prepare drawings to manufacture prototypes or components of an experimental setup
- Document and communicate assumptions, inputs and proposed solutions to multidisciplinary teams for review
- Support validation of new designs and technologies through benchtop or larger-scale testing
- Prepare presentations and slides to communicate ideas and/or progress on projects
- Ability to work well in with Integrated Product Teams to create and verify novel design solutions that meet established program objectives and requirements (technical, cost, schedule)
