Responsibilities

  • Live clip and code Idaho Steelheads games for use by the coaching staff.
  • Assist with the preparation of opponent pre-scout video, including systems, tendencies, personnel, and special teams.
  • Compile individual player teaching clips for player development meetings and coaching review.
  • Clip and organize video during practices as requested by the coaching staff.
  • Maintain organized game, practice, opponent, and individual player video libraries.
  • Assist with special teams analysis, system reviews, player evaluations, and other coaching projects.
  • Complete miscellaneous video projects as assigned by the coaching staff.
  • Help ensure video is organized, accessible, and prepared efficiently for meetings and team use.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and take direction from the coaching staff.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, home games, practices, and other team activities as required.
  • Professionalism and discretion when working around players, coaches, and confidential team information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with Hudl Sportscode or other video analytic software.
  • Experience working with hockey video at the professional, collegiate, junior, high school, or amateur level.
  • Familiarity with live coding, tagging, playlists, presentations, and video organization.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, hockey-minded, technologically capable, and eager to learn.

This position is particularly well suited for a recent graduate, aspiring coach, video analyst, former player, or individual looking to begin or continue a career in professional hockey.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with the Idaho Steelheads coaching staff and gain exposure to professional-level game preparation, opponent scouting, player development, special teams analysis, and hockey operations.
