The Ingenious Med Implementation Consultant helps healthcare organizations improve how physicians and practice teams manage patient rounding, documentation, charge capture, billing workflows, and related operational processes. This is a workflow-consulting and application-configuration role.
The consultant leads customer discovery, translates operational needs into an effective Ingenious Med configuration, prepares and trains users, supports go-live, and provides post-go-live optimization and advisory services. The role requires strong active listening, physician credibility, revenue cycle understanding, presentation skills, and the ability to build trust quickly with clinical and operational leaders. This direction aligns with the established Ingenious Med role emphasis on workflow expertise, current-state and future-state analysis, configuration, training, testing, and go-live readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead workflow discovery. Meet with physicians, practice leaders, administrators, billers, and other stakeholders to understand how they see patients, document encounters, create and submit charges, use shortcuts, identify missed charges, and experience workflow friction.
- Listen for the underlying business need. Ask thoughtful follow-up questions, surface adoption barriers and risks, and distinguish the customer’s stated request from the operational outcome they are trying to achieve.
- Map current and future workflows. Document existing processes, define the intended future-state workflow, and help customers make practical decisions that balance their needs with Ingenious Med capabilities and recommended practices. Existing role materials specifically assign the consultant responsibility for workflow assessment, identifying business needs, documenting current processes, and recognizing adoption barriers.
- Configure Ingenious Med directly. Build and configure the customer’s Ingenious Med environment based on validated workflows, requirements, user roles, specialties, and operational objectives. Verify that the configuration supports the agreed workflow before training and go-live.
- Validate requirements and readiness. Confirm configuration decisions with customer stakeholders, support user acceptance testing, obtain required approvals or signoffs, and identify gaps that could affect adoption or go-live success.
- Deliver customer training. Develop and facilitate engaging training for physicians, practice leaders, administrators, billers, coders, and other users. Adjust the delivery approach based on audience, workflow, experience level, and learning needs.
- Support implementation and go-live. Participate in implementation milestones, readiness reviews, go-live activities, issue triage, and stabilization support, either remotely or onsite as required.
- Provide post-go-live optimization and advisory services. Conduct workflow reviews and health checks, evaluate adoption and operational performance, and recommend targeted training, configuration improvements, workflow changes, or other services that create measurable customer value. Ingenious Med’s newer Professional Services model incorporates health checks into the engagement and uses them to identify training, consulting, optimization, expansion, and clean-up opportunities after go-live.
- Solve problems consultatively. Analyze workflow or adoption concerns, recommend practical solutions, and clearly explain tradeoffs when a customer request does not align with product functionality, best practices, project scope, or the desired business outcome.
- Collaborate across the project team.
- Partner with the Project Manager , who coordinates the overall plan, milestones, communications, status reporting, and escalations.
- Partner with the Integration Analyst , who primarily owns interface design, build, testing, troubleshooting, and technical HL7 work.
- Provide workflow context to the Integration Analyst and participate in end-to-end validation where interface behavior affects the customer workflow. Ingenious Med project materials describe the Integration Analyst as the technical interface resource, while the Implementation Consultant remains a distinct required project role.
Maintain project discipline. Keep requirements, configuration decisions, risks, issues, testing results, customer approvals, and follow-up items clear and current. Manage multiple assignments and deadlines while escalating scope, readiness, or timeline concerns promptly.
Required Experience and Skills we look for:
- 2–5 years of experience in healthcare operations, revenue cycle, practice management, healthcare technology, healthcare consulting, or a related customer-facing environment.
- Experience working directly with physicians, practice leaders, or healthcare operational stakeholders .
- Demonstrated success leading workflow discussions, requirements-gathering sessions, customer training, presentations, or operational improvement conversations.

- Strong verbal, written, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technology in clear, accessible language.
