Index Structurer, Italian market

Primary Responsibilities

The candidate will primarily be responsible for:

• •Designing indices, including data analysis, modeling, back-testing, rule creation, marketing material drafting, and operational handovers
• •Creating new thematic and systematic index strategies tailored to client needs and market trends
• •Partner closely with Index Sales on the Italian market to support client coverage, business development and commercial opportunities across institutional and issuer segments, including proactively reaching out to existing and prospective clients, participating in client meetings, presentations and roadshows, preparing and pitching index ideas, showcasing Euronext Index structuring capabilities, and identifying new index solutions aligned with client needs.
• •Participating in client meetings and supporting commercial discussions with banks, asset managers, insurers, and other financial institutions
• •Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients in the Italian market
• •Providing client support by answering queries related to index rules, compositions, mechanisms, data providers, and methodologies
• •Supporting the development of new index solutions tailored to the Italian market and local client demand
• •Paying close attention to detail throughout the index creation process and ensuring a smooth handover to the operations team

Education

• •Master’s degree preferred in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science with strong finance and business components
• •Candidates with degrees in Economics or Finance with a strong quantitative focus, particularly in data-related subjects, quantitative finance, or applied mathematics for portfolio management, are also encouraged to apply

Skills

• •Advanced Python — essential
• •Full professional proficiency in Italian and English
• •Intermediate knowledge of database architecture, data flows, and SQL
• •Proficient in Excel
• •Familiarity with market data platforms such as Bloomberg, Reuters, and FactSet
• •Strong understanding of financial markets and familiarity with the Italian market, including local banks, asset managers, insurers, and structured product activity
• •Strong communication and presentation skills
• •Comfortable interacting directly with clients and discussing both technical and commercial topics
• •Commercial mindset with the ability to identify client needs and translate them into index solutions
• •Hands-on, proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership
• •Customer-focused and results-driven
• •Strong team player, committed to delivering high-quality results
• •Prior experience in using data to develop new thematic or investment ideas is a plus

Experience

• •2 to 3 years of experience in indexation, portfolio construction, financial product development, structuring, trading, or a related quantitative role
• •Prior exposure to the Italian financial market and familiarity with local market participants is strongly preferred
• •Experience in a client-facing role, sales, structuring, or business development is highly valued
• •Experience with IT systems and operational processes is a plus
