The Job

We are looking for an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to add to our dynamic team of professionals in our Bend, OR office. The Indirect Tax Manager is responsible for leading and developing the firm's sales and use tax practice within the Client Advisory Services (CAS) department. This role serves as the firm's subject matter expert on indirect tax compliance, regulatory changes, audit support, and nexus management while partnering closely with CAS managers and clients to minimize risk and ensure compliance.

Qualifications for this position:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

Minimum 5 + years tax experience

Strong knowledge of multi-state sales and use tax laws, nexus rules, and audit processes

Someone with a desire and ability to work directly with clients and staff

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

CPA preferred

What do we need you to do?

Sales & Use Tax Compliance

Review sales and use tax returns prepared for CAS clients to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely filing across jurisdictions

Develop and maintain quality control procedures for indirect tax compliance

Nexus, Risk & Audit Support

Conduct nexus reviews for new and existing clients and identify registration requirements and compliance risks

Serve as the primary point of contact during sales and use tax audits, coordinating with taxing authorities and clients

Client Advisory

Advise clients on indirect tax implications of business changes, expansions, new products, or new markets

Provide proactive communication to clients regarding regulatory changes and potential impacts

Build trusted advisor relationships with clients and internal teams as the firm's indirect tax specialist

Practice & Process Leadership

Design and implement standardized workflows, documentation standards, and quality checklists for indirect tax compliance

Collaborate with department leadership on staffing, workflow, and service offerings
