Description

Position Summary

JE Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our custom metal fabrication and manufacturing operation.

We are looking for a hands-on technician with strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, PLC/controls, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility systems. The right candidate will be comfortable diagnosing equipment failures, identifying root causes, completing repairs, and helping prevent recurring downtime.

This position supports both manufacturing equipment and facility maintenance. The technician will work closely with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager and will take ownership of assigned equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, recurring equipment issues, and day-to-day maintenance execution.

Manufacturing Equipment

  • Haas and Mazak CNC milling machines
  • Tube cutting laser
  • Sheet cutting laser
  • Waterjet cutting system
  • CNC tube bender
  • CNC saw
  • CNC press brake
  • MIG and TIG welding equipment
  • Air compressors and compressed-air dryers
  • Forklifts and material-handling equipment
  • Associated chillers, pumps, hydraulic power units, coolant systems, lubrication systems, exhaust/fume collection, and machine support equipment

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
  • Diagnose electrical circuits, motors, motor controls, relays, contactors, VFDs, power supplies, and related components.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, machine controls, inputs/outputs, sensors, switches, interlocks, and safety circuits.
  • Troubleshoot servo systems, encoders, proximity sensors, limit switches, actuators, and other motion-control devices.
  • Diagnose CNC machine faults involving controls, drives, motors, spindles, sensors, hydraulic systems, lubrication systems, coolant systems, and related components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems including valves, cylinders, pumps, regulators, hoses, manifolds, and controls.
  • Perform mechanical repairs involving bearings, shafts, gearboxes, belts, chains, couplings, linear guides, and drive systems.
  • Troubleshoot laser, waterjet, CNC forming, cutting, machining, and welding equipment and their supporting systems.
  • Work closely with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager to prioritize maintenance activities, coordinate repairs, and support equipment and facility improvement projects.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic diagrams, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and service technicians when outside technical support is required.
  • Follow lockout/tagout and all applicable safety procedures.

Equipment Reliability & Preventive Maintenance Ownership

  • Develop, execute, and improve preventive maintenance schedules in coordination with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensure required preventive maintenance activities are completed on time and properly documented.
  • Track recurring equipment failures and identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Recommend changes to maintenance intervals, procedures, or equipment based on failure history and operating conditions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and repair records.
  • Identify critical spare parts and recommend appropriate inventory levels to reduce extended downtime.
  • Monitor equipment condition and identify developing issues before they result in failures.
  • Help establish maintenance standards, checklists, and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Support equipment reliability improvements and reduction of unplanned downtime.
  • Follow through on open maintenance issues until repairs and corrective actions are completed.
  • Communicate equipment risks, recurring failures, parts needs, and expected downtime to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
  • Support planning for equipment rebuilds, upgrades, replacements, and major repairs.

The expectation is not simply to respond when equipment breaks, but to help prevent failures, improve reliability, and maintain equipment in a condition that supports production requirements.

Facilities Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Electrical distribution, panels, lighting, receptacles, and facility electrical systems within appropriate qualifications and authorization.
  • Compressed-air generation and distribution systems.
  • HVAC equipment and coordination with outside HVAC contractors when required.
  • Plumbing, water systems, drains, fixtures, and minor facility repairs.
  • Building lighting and electrical fixtures.
  • Doors, roll-up doors, docks, locks, and related building hardware.
  • Facility pumps, motors, fans, and ventilation systems.
  • Welding fume extraction and general exhaust systems.
  • Equipment cooling and chiller systems.
  • Basic building and grounds maintenance.
  • Coordination and oversight of outside contractors for specialized repairs, inspections, and facility services.
  • Support for facility improvement, equipment installation, relocation, and utility connection projects.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for more than someone who replaces parts. The right technician should be able to approach a machine that is not operating correctly, understand the electrical, control, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems involved, systematically troubleshoot the problem, identify the root cause, and make a safe and lasting repair.

This person should be equally comfortable troubleshooting a CNC machine, repairing a pneumatic or hydraulic problem, diagnosing an electrical or controls fault, and handling day-to-day facility maintenance needs.

Just as importantly, this person should take ownership of equipment condition, follow through on recurring problems, and work with the Facilities and Maintenance Manager to steadily improve reliability and reduce downtime.
