Lead Infection Prevention & Resident Safety

Medical Hill Healthcare Center is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Infection Preventionist Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team. This position plays a vital role in developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention and control practices throughout the facility while promoting a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor the facility's infection prevention and control program.

Conduct routine infection surveillance and identify trends or potential outbreaks.

Monitor compliance with infection prevention policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Investigate suspected or confirmed infections and coordinate appropriate follow-up.

Maintain accurate infection control records, reports, and documentation.

Provide infection prevention education and training to nursing staff and other facility employees.

Monitor hand hygiene, PPE use, isolation precautions, and other infection control practices.

Collaborate with nursing leadership, physicians, laboratory personnel, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Assist with outbreak investigations and implementation of appropriate prevention and containment measures.

Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives related to infection prevention.

Stay current with applicable infection prevention guidelines, regulations, and best practices.

Perform other duties as assigned by facility leadership.

Qualifications

Current California LVN/LPN license in good standing.

Previous experience in infection prevention, skilled nursing, post-acute care, or long-term care preferred.

Strong knowledge of infection prevention and control principles.

Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Ability to analyze infection trends and develop appropriate interventions.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to educate and work collaboratively with staff across multiple departments.
