  • Job Description

The Office of Information Technology advances the missions of Anoka Technical College and Anoka-Ramsey Community College by providing secure, reliable, accessible, and innovative technology services. Through strong partnerships, responsible stewardship, and a service-focused Information Systems model, OIT supports teaching, learning, student success, institutional operations, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement across both colleges.

The Service Desk Specialist will be expected to troubleshoot and resolve technology support tickets in-person and remotely as well as ensure technology is properly set up in labs and classrooms. The position requires the use of proper communication techniques in a team format and also in a one-on-one setting with students, faculty, and staff.

Because the position provides hands-on support for classrooms, labs, and campus users, it is primarily an on-site role. Limited telework may be available with supervisor approval when assigned responsibilities can be performed remotely and operational and campus support needs are met.

Salary Range:

$25.99-$39.01/hour

Minimum Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience in IT Help Desk/Service Desk environment
  • One (1) year of experience in customer service environment
  • Demonstrated computer and software technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and effectively use new technology.
  • One (1) year of experience with Microsoft applications (e.g. MS Office, Active Directory, Outlook, etc.).

Preferred Qualification

  • Associate’s degree
  • Information Systems industry technical certification, IS Trade or Technical program completion
  • Technical certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation, or similar certifications.
  • Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse, multi-cultural, and multiracial community
