Inventory Control Analyst

Job Description:
Job Family Definition:
Supports inventory control operations through data analysis, reporting, inventory investigations, and process improvement activities. Analyzes inventory data to identify trends, risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve inventory accuracy, operational performance, and material control processes.
Develops expertise in inventory management systems, manufacturing operations, and analytical problem-solving while supporting business objectives through data-driven recommendations.
Works under general guidance to complete assignments of limited to moderate scope. Exercises judgment within established procedures while developing the analytical and leadership capabilities required to manage increasingly complex business challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Supports day-to-day inventory control activities, including reviewing inventory records, material transactions, storage locations, and movement of materials.
- Learns and performs inventory-related transactions and analytical processes using SAP and other business systems.
- Develops, maintains, and communicates reports, metrics, and dashboards used to assess inventory health, operational performance, and inventory accuracy.
- Investigates inventory variances, material discrepancies, shortages, transaction errors, and process exceptions.
- Coordinates corrective actions for validated inventory-related issues with relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborates with Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and other partners to resolve issues and support accurate, efficient inventory processes.
- Supports the planning, execution, reconciliation, and analysis of physical inventory and cycle count activities.
- Resolves issues related to reconciling inventory discrepancies and addresses questions escalated from employees in lower-level roles.
- Identifies opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, reporting, controls, and business processes through data analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, analytics, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent and relevant experience.
- 0–3 years of relevant experience involving data analysis, operations, manufacturing, supply chain, or process improvement.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience with SAP, Power BI, SharePoint, SQL, reporting tools, or data visualization tools is beneficial but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collect, organize, validate, and interpret data from multiple sources.
- Demonstrates a growth mindset and willingness to challenge existing processes through data-driven recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and organizational levels.
