Summary

AllClear Aerospace & Defense is seeking an experienced, hands-on Inventory Manager to lead inventory control and warehouse operations in support of our aerospace manufacturing operations. This role is accountable for ensuring inventory accuracy, strengthening material controls, optimizing inventory levels, and driving operational improvements that support production efficiency and customer commitments.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, results-driven leader who takes ownership, develops and holds teams accountable, and collaborates effectively across departments. Success requires a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, the ability to challenge ineffective practices, and the discipline to establish sustainable processes that drive measurable improvements in inventory performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee inventory accuracy across raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods, ensuring accurate ERP/MRP transactions, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, material issuance, kitting, and stock movements to ensure material availability and support production schedules.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, Finance, and Operations to reduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory, optimize storage utilization, and improve inventory management.
  • Establish standardized processes and implement Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement practices to strengthen operational efficiency and material flow.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace quality and customer requirements, including material identification, lot/serial traceability, documentation, and segregation of nonconforming materials.
  • Direct inventory personnel, establish performance expectations, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory accuracy, cycle-count completion, transaction accuracy, and material availability.

Education, Experience & Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications represent the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required.

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of inventory control, warehouse, or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading inventory personnel, establishing accountability, and driving operational improvements.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, including inventory transactions, cycle counting, reconciliation, and reporting; experience with Quantum, Pentagon, or comparable systems preferred.
  • Proven ability to maintain inventory accuracy and material traceability, resolve discrepancies, and improve material flow and inventory controls.
  • Experience with physical inventory, audits, and excess or obsolete material management.
  • Aerospace and defense manufacturing experience, including familiarity with AS9100 requirements and manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, or assembly, preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and visual management preferred.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 6–12 months, the Inventory Manager will be expected to:

  • Implement a sustainable cycle-count program and establish meaningful inventory accuracy metrics.
  • Reduce inventory discrepancies and improve ERP transaction accuracy.
  • Improve warehouse organization, material identification, traceability, and space utilization.
  • Strengthen controls over excess, obsolete, and nonconforming inventory.
  • Establish clear team expectations and consistent standard work.
  • Improve material availability and reduce inventory-related production disruptions.
