Investment Associate, Strategy & Markets

Amazon seeks an Investment Associate to join its Treasury Investments team, which oversees the active management of a diverse range of internally and externally managed portfolios, as well as Amazon's commercial paper program.

The primary responsibilities of this role involve supporting the investments team across portfolio reporting and analysis, compliance monitoring, asset allocation research, and oversight of external managers. The associate will contribute to idea generation, help maintain and improve reporting frameworks, and support ongoing process improvements that strengthen the team's operational foundation.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their investments career to gain broad exposure across fixed income, portfolio management, and institutional investment operations at one of the world's most dynamic companies. The successful candidate will work alongside seasoned investment professionals and play a meaningful role in shaping how Amazon manages its investment portfolios.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable with ambiguity and skilled at balancing multiple competing priorities. This role involves working closely with banking counterparties and external investment managers to develop existing relationships and establish new ones as needed. The position requires someone comfortable with significant cross-functional collaboration across teams within Treasury and with business partners in Accounting, Legal, and Tax.

This position requires a self-starter who is eager to learn and will work to continuously improve Treasury processes while maintaining a rigorous control environment and compliance with various Amazon policies.

Basic qualifications

• - 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
• - 3+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
• - 3+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
• - 3+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
• - Bachelor's degree

Preferred qualifications

• - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
• - CFA
• - Can demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet tools
• - Familiarity with portfolio management and credit risk management concepts and frameworks

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
