Our New York office is looking for an Investment Banking Vice President to join the Latin America Coverage Group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with regional and international clients on a wide range of complex transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, shareholder relations, recapitalizations, demergers, leveraged buyouts and defenses against unsolicited takeover attempts, strategic advisory assignments and executions of public and private capital markets transactions. The successful candidate will work closely with professionals throughout the firm to deliver high quality advice to our clients. You will play an important role on a team that includes senior professionals who will encourage you to go beyond the numbers and think creatively.

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and verbal) is required; fluency in Portuguese is also a plus
  • 6+ years of relevant experience within the investment banking industry, or an MBA with 4+ years of experience, with a proven track record working on complex executed deals across M&A and various industry sectors and with a strong technical & execution background
  • Strong written and verbal communication, client and interpersonal skills
  • Commercial instinct and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA and/or CFA designation would be an asset
  • Series licensing or must obtain

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $250,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
