IR Service Engineer

What you will do:

We are seeking an Industrial Refrigeration Service Engineer to support a wide range of industrial and process refrigeration equipment from Johnson Controls and other manufacturers. You will deliver field service, maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, overhauls, plant audits, and warranty repairs while helping customers improve reliability, uptime, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• •Perform service, maintenance, commissioning, start-up, optimization, overhaul, troubleshooting, installation, and warranty repair work on industrial refrigeration systems.
• •Carry out detailed plant audits for industrial and process refrigeration equipment and prepare clear reports with observations, recommendations, and follow-up actions.
• •Diagnose and resolve technical issues on site, test systems, and support the effective closure of service tickets and field issues.
• •Prepare accurate service reports, commissioning reports, technical documentation, and weekly updates for longer assignments.
• •Support customer operations and maintenance teams with practical guidance, technical discussion, and on-site training where required.
• •Travel across Southeast Asia and to onshore or offshore customer sites as needed to support service and project delivery.
• •Supervise subcontractors working on behalf of Johnson Controls and coordinate activities to meet site and customer expectations.
• •Identify opportunities for additional services, parts, and products during field visits and share findings with the service office.
• •Build trusted relationships with new and existing customers to help strengthen the maintenance base and support business growth.
• •Complete other duties as assigned by your superior or management.

What we look for:

• •Strong knowledge of industrial and process refrigeration products and systems.
• •Hands-on experience with screw, centrifugal, and reciprocating compressors.
• •Working knowledge of PLC and microprocessor controls.
• •Understanding of ASHRAE standards.
• •Solid knowledge of refrigerants and safe handling practices.
• •Good understanding of health and safety requirements in industrial field service environments.
• •Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as email.
• •Experience preparing clear technical reports and communicating findings to customers and internal stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• •Experience with commissioning, start-up, optimization, and performance testing of industrial refrigeration systems.
• •Exposure to ammonia, CO2, hydrocarbon gases, or other industrial refrigerants.
• •Experience training customer operations or maintenance teams.
• •Experience working in offshore or multi-site service environments.
