Duties

• •Serve as a project leader or consultant involved with all phases of the life cycle of a major financial automated information system.
• •Provides technical guidance, assists in determining priorities, ensures adequacy of project plans; and the analysis, design, testing, debugging, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of software and systems.
• •Uses in-depth analysis to identify the size and scope of problems or new approaches being investigated. Coordinates maintenance and support activities of a major financial automated information system.
• •Briefs management on strategies to be used to exploit and implement new developments and advanced techniques in the area of software design and maintenance.
• •Ensures provision of adequate technical support of the major finance and/or accounting automated information systems. Ensures proper oversight of configuration management control procedures.

Specialized experience is defined as: Utilizing advanced programming techniques and languages to evaluate and customize software and systems through analysis, design, development, programming, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance; conducting systems requirement reviews and applying changes and modifications to take necessary corrective action; applying IT principles and practices and supporting all functions of the software development life cycle process. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
