Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT), Position Description Number D2526P02 and is part of the PA Deputy Chief of Staff G6, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. INDEFINITE Position may lead to permanent assignment without further advertisement.
Duties
As an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT), GS-2210-11, you will address problems; installs, configures, troubleshoots, and provide maintenance and training in response to customer requirements or inquiries (e.g., tiered-level customer support). Provide support and guidance on installing and operating personal computers, peripheral equipment, and associated software. Receive requests for resolution of hardware or software problems that may require in-depth research. Update hardware and software architecture databases to reflect installations, turn-ins, and changes in reportable software. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Non-Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the Deputy Chief of Staff G6 AOC 2: NG employees in the Deputy Chief of Staff G6 AOC 3: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard Military Grades: OFFICER O1-O4 WARRANT OFFICER WO1-CW5 ENLISTED E1-E9 The supervisor for this position is Ms. Saylor *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Secret Security Clearance GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate at least 36 months experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience in planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet thneeds of the assignment. Experience in preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled. SPECIAL NOTE: Per the Merit Promotion and Placement Plan (MPP) if there are more than 15 qualified applicants for each position, by category, a KSA board will be convened in accordance with Chapter 4 of the MPP. Education
At the GS-11 level, a Ph.D. or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
