Summary

This IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/SYSADMIN) position, is located at the JFHQ-State, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics (DCSLOG) (G4/J4),Sustainment Automation Support Management Office (SASMO) and is part of the CA JFHQ Logistics. Duties

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, PERMANENT POSITION The primary purpose of the IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/SYSADMIN), GS-2210-11, is to provide support to Automated Logistics Information Systems and Programs to all State/Territory activities/organizations and perform a wide range of specialized methods/techniques for planning; analyzing and identifying problems in order to develop and implement resolutions to administrative and systemic programs throughout the organization. May make additional selections within 90 days of eligible(s) issuance.

Qualifications

IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/SYSADMIN), GS-2210-11: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level experience in approaching techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization; Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment; Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: Customer Service Hardware Operating Systems Problem Solving Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, Failure to receive the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position. This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration. Head of Agency requests to exceed 14 days in a calendar year must be approved in advance.

Education

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work required OR have a combination of education and experience. (Only graduate education in excess of the amount required above may be used.) When there is a positive education or certification requirement, or you are using education to qualify as a substitution for experience, copies of transcripts (unofficial) and/or certificates are required at the time of application to verify that you meet the educational/certification requirement or substitution. Failure to provide transcripts and/or certificates at the time of application will result in automatic disqualification. Only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education may be credited.
