IT Support Specialist (Part-Time)

As an IT Support Specialist, you will be assisting our internal customers with questions and problems concerning computer systems, hardware and software. You will also work guiding customers through system configuration and troubleshooting, while aiming to resolve issues with efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide responsive technical support to internal employees via email, ticketing system, phone, remote support tools, and in-person assistance.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, network connectivity, printing, and peripheral-related issues.
Assist with the deployment, configuration, setup, maintenance, and replacement of computers, mobile devices, hardware, and software.
Document support requests, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and other relevant information within the IT ticketing system.
Follow up with employees to ensure technical issues have been resolved satisfactorily.
Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the appropriate IT personnel or third-party support provider.
Assist with user account setup, access changes, password resets, software installation, and other common IT service requests.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Assist with workstation imaging, deployment, configuration, inventory management, and lifecycle replacement.
Provide basic training and technical guidance to employees on company systems, applications, hardware, and IT best practices.
Identify recurring technical issues and assist with determining root causes and long-term solutions.
Assist with reporting and analysis of support requests, recurring problems, hardware issues, and service trends.
Communicate employee feedback, recurring issues, and potential system improvements to the appropriate internal teams.
Assist with IT projects, system upgrades, hardware deployments, software rollouts, and other departmental initiatives as needed.
Follow company IT, cybersecurity, data protection, and acceptable-use policies. Provide feedback on processes and make recommendations on areas to improve.
Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of professional IT help desk, desktop support, technical support, or similar experience.
Strong knowledge of Windows-based computer systems and experience troubleshooting hardware, software, operating system, and peripheral issues.
Working knowledge of common business applications, Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, and Windows 11 environments.
Ability to troubleshoot problems methodically and clearly document findings and resolutions.
Ability to explain technical concepts and provide clear, step-by-step instructions to employees with varying levels of technical knowledge.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and collaborate with other employees, vendors, and technical personnel.
Willingness to learn new technologies and accept constructive feedback.
Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary to support business operations, system maintenance, or critical issues.
To comply with U.S. export regulations, such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the Export Administration Regulations you must (a) be a “U.S. Person” as defined under those regulations, which includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents of the U.S., and protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or (b) otherwise be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce, as appropriate.
Preferred Skills and Education
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field is preferred but not required.
Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft certifications, or similar credentials are a plus.
Relevant education, technical certifications, hands-on labs, military technical experience, internships, or demonstrated technical ability may be considered in place of a portion of the preferred professional experience.
Candidates with less than two years of professional IT experience may still be considered if they demonstrate strong technical knowledge supported by relevant education, certifications, internships, or comparable hands-on experience.
