About The Role

We're looking for an IT Systems Administrator who is a pro at automation, building the scripts, integrations, and internal tools we use every day. At the same time, this is a high ownership, deeply hands-on role for a technical generalist.

That ranges from the POS terminal dropping offline at 9:30 PM on a packed Saturday to the new GM needing their account provisioned before their first shift, all the way to the automation that replaces a manual check nobody should still be doing. We need someone who can identify problems, fix them, and design the systems that keep them from coming back.

You'll work in a small tech team alongside our existing IT teammate, who covers a lot of the day-to-day support and hardware ground with you, and you'll partner closely with our maintenance and operations teams. You'll report into senior leadership, and you'll be trusted to ensure everything runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Build internal tools and automations that remove manual work. Python, Google Apps Script, JavaScript, AI-assisted code, whatever fits the problem. Small tools that quietly save hours every week are the highest-value thing you can do here

Support the accuracy and consistency of core data recipes, inventory, labour rules. You'll make them accurate, consistent, and actually useful, including the reporting and dashboards that leadership and store teams rely on

Own the end-user environment. Windows and Mac hardware, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and our core SaaS platforms provisioning, access, and support

Maintain and support our POS infrastructure (Oracle Simphony), including POS backend servers and front-of-house terminals across all locations

Manage our networks across every site. Patch panels, switches, LAN, wireless access points, and site-to-site VPNs.

Be reachable during restaurant hours, including evenings and weekends. This is real and worth being clear about: our stores run late, and when something breaks mid-service it's a guest-experience problem, not a ticket. The vast majority get resolved remotely over Slack or a quick FaceTime call, but the expectation of availability is genuine

Write things down. SOPs, documentation, and training resources, so our systems are operable by more than one person including the tools you build

Required Skills and Qualifications

Comfort working with APIs, data, and other people's systems reading documentation, handling auth, dealing with formats that clash, and getting two platforms to talk

Enough hands-on technical range to be comfortable with hardware, workstations, and admin consoles, and the proven ability to learn when confronted with something new

The independence to locate issues and work without a roadmap.

Access to reliable transportation; this role is based out of our head office but requires regular travel to our locations across the GTA

Our Corporate Head Office is in Vaughan, located on Strada Drive near Highway 7 & Pine Valley (close to Hwy 400 & Hwy 407). This role is full time and predominantly based out of our head office, and will require visits to our Demetres and Scooped by Demetres locations across the GTA.
