The AI Policy Network (AIPN) is a bipartisan, independent 501(c)(4) advocacy organization dedicated to advancing secure AI development that serves America's economic prosperity, technological leadership, and national security. We provide policymakers with technically-grounded perspectives on emerging AI capabilities and risks, with particular focus on ensuring advanced AI systems remain reliable, controllable, and aligned with their intended purposes.
Position Summary
The AI Policy Network (AIPN) is hiring a mission-driven Junior Associate to provide research, operational, and administrative support across our fast-growing organization. This entry-level role is perfect for an early-career professional eager to work at the intersection of technology, policy, and national security while learning directly from former senior defense officials, AI researchers, and legislative strategists.
Responsibilities
Conduct background research on AI policy developments, committee activities, and AI governance trends; draft memos and briefing decks.
Support event planning for Hill briefings, donor meetings, and virtual webinars; assist with travel, scheduling, and expense tracking.
Help maintain CRM data and contact databases.
Draft social-media posts, newsletters, and website updates; proofread policy briefs.
Monitor breaking AI news and flag urgent developments for senior staff.
Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and senior leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Public Policy, Political Science, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong writing and analytical abilities; proficiency with Google Workspace.
Interest in AI, technology policy, or national-security issues.
People-person with strong interpersonal skills.
Self-directed initiator with an upbeat, whatever-it-takes attitude.
The AI Policy Network (AIPN) Role Details
Compensation: $55,000 – $75,000
Benefits: Benefits include technology budget, stipend for health insurance, and unlimited PTO.
Location: Washington, DC, US (Hybrid)
