Junior Financial Accountant (3-6 months contract)

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

• •Accounting support: Journal entries, account reconciliations, schedules, and month-end assistance.
• •Administrative support: Data entry, document preparation, maintaining spreadsheets, and updating records.
• •Audit and reporting support: Gathering supporting documents, preparing schedules, and following up on outstanding requests.
• •General Finance support: Assisting team members with ad hoc requests and covering routine tasks during busy periods.

Education and Experience

• •Education: Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• •Experience: Generally 1 to 3 years of entry-level accounting experience, bookkeeping, or relevant co-op/internship placements.

Technical and Software Skills

• •Microsoft Excel: Strong proficiency, including formulas like VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and PivotTables.
• •Core Functions: Basic knowledge of accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.

Certifications and Assets

CPA Track: Enrollment in or active progress toward the CPA Canada designation is a strong asset.

Soft Skills

• •Attention to detail and high accuracy with numbers.
• •Organizational and time-management abilities for handling month-end close tasks.
• •Communication skills to work with team members and Senior Financial Analysts.

Salary: 60.000 - 65.000/year
