Junior SAP ABAP Developer, Valeo Service

Responsibilities:

• •Core Development & Integration: Design, develop, and maintain both standard ABAP programs and secure, scalable OData services/RESTful APIs based on product backlog features and high-level designs.
• •Requirements Analysis: Understand and analyze Product Backlog features to identify gaps or missing information needed to perform comprehensive development (both backend and API layers) and testing activities.
• •Quality Assurance: Perform technical reviews on software design and coding (both OO-ABAP and API architecture) to ensure high performance, security, and adherence to standard guidelines.
• •Continuous Delivery: Ensure continuous integration on configuration and delivery of both ABAP objects and API updates.
• •Agile Collaboration: Follow standard team processes, report work progress continuously through Daily Scrum meetings, and participate in Weekly meetings/calls with internal and external Product Owners.
• •Team Support & Improvement: Contribute effectively to the continuous improvement of development frameworks, the team, and work environment by submitting improvement proposals. Support colleagues whenever required and proactively raise flags for any issue that can impact the project or team.

• Education:
• B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Communication, Electronics, or Computer Science.

• Professional Experience
• 1 - 2 years of professional experience in SAP ABAP development, with hands-on exposure to building and consuming OData services and APIs.

• Key Competencies:
• OData & API Development: Expertise in SAP Gateway (SEGW), OData protocol, RESTful API design, and JSON/XML data formats, including API performance tuning and security.
• ABAP/4 Object Programming: Strong proficiency in core and Object-Oriented ABAP applications on the SAP NetWeaver platform.
• Backend Foundations : Creating and managing Data Dictionary objects (Tables, Views, Data elements, search helps, etc.).
• Core ABAP Programming: Solid experience in developing Classical/Interactive Reports, ALV reports, SMARTFORMS, Adobe forms, and Enhancements.
• Business Logic & Integration: Extensive use of BADI, BDC, and BAPIs to build robust backend logic for standard programs and API endpoints.
• SAP Modules: Familiarity with standard SAP modules (SD, MM, QM, FICO, etc.) to understand backend data structures and business processes.
• API Consumption: Experience in consuming external APIs from within SAP (using standard HTTP client classes, etc.).
• SAP HANA Integration: Experience with SAP HANA, specifically creating Core Data Services (CDS) views and exposing them as OData services.
• Frontend Integration: Exposure to SAP UI5 / Fiori to understand how OData services are consumed by the front-end.

• Languages:
• Excellent command of English language is a must.
