The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at non-profits tackling some of our nation's most pressing policy challenges all over the United States. Early-career professionals including undergraduate/graduate/law students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates will be geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States through the duration of the program. Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so we strongly encourage you to begin the admissions process early!

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) offers a wide variety of opportunities to college students across the country. Unpaid research, communications, and government affairs internships are available on a year-round basis and can vary in length from a semester to a few weeks in duration. Interns can choose to work part-time or full-time, as hours of work are extremely flexible. Our daily work with Capitol Hill and the White House, as well as government agencies and other nonprofit organizations, provides a close and invaluable look at how Washington works. Many projects involve working closely with staff members, while others require a great deal of independence. Interns are considered important members of our staff and actively participate in staff meetings and other events. While interns will also be required to perform clerical duties from time to time, much of the work will be substantive.

Communications/Media Internship

Assist CAGW’s communications director with answering press and public information requests, conduct media outreach campaigns, assist with social media content, produce and distribute press releases, update press lists, maintain media database, and coordinate communications to radio talk show hosts, reporters, and columnists. Anyone with experience in communications and media is encouraged to apply.

Interns may spend a majority of their time supporting the work above, but may also support other staff members as needed.

This role is open to remote work, but priority is given to those available for in person work at our Washington, D.C office.
