JOB TITLE : Laundry Attendant

JOB SUMMARY : Daily cleaning of all guest and hotel linen. Perform processing of soiled linen insuring a clean and fresh product for hotel operation.

REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper & Laundry Supervisor

PRIMARY DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

• •Maintain open channels of communication with Laundry Supervisor and housekeeping department.
• •Sort linen by type and process in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• •Inspect all processed linen to ensure the highest quality product possible.
• •Take part in all inventories under the direction of the laundry supervisor.
• •Maintain overall cleanliness of the laundry to meet all standards.
• •Maintain all equipment. Observe repairs if needed.
• •Assist in delivery of linen to Lodge/Cottages/Inn.

PRIOR EXPERIENCE : Experience is a plus but not required.

RESPONSIBLE FOR : Equipment and checklists.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Must have ability to work steadily all day at tasks that requires walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and kneeling. Manipulation of carts weighing 100 pounds. Must be able to work around high temperature equipment.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT : Laundry room may be very warm at times. Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends & holidays are REQUIRED.

HAZARDS ENCOUNTERED : Some use of cleaning agents and chemicals may be hazardous if improperly used or if in contact with skin, eyes or clothing occurs. Heavy lifting, bending and kneeling. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.

Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED : Competence (after training) in the safe use of the following equipment and supplies: distribution carts, mangle, washers, dryers, and all other equipment in the laundry.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to read, write and follow simple written and verbal instructions. Ability to speak, read and understand the English language.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS : None.

PERSONALITY REQUIREMENTS : Self-motivation, strong ability to adapt and accept changes.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMNTS: Driver's license is a plus.
