Summary

About the Position: This is a Laundry Worker (MVO) position located in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

  • Collect soiled or contaminated linen from all wards and clinics within the main hospital facility, outlying medical clinics.
  • Prepare specific disaster carts and ensure they are readily available.
  • Placing linen in proper storage location and is managed and tracked.
  • Conduct periodic inventory assessment of cart composition and preparation plan that will allow carts to be delivered at a moment's notice.
  • Weigh each bin of laundry and linen.
  • Participate in annual linen inventory of the hospital and outlying clinics to determine the amount of linen that is lost, pilfered, surveyed or still in rotation.
  • Operate a box tuck with enclosed bed and 2,000lb liftgate.
  • Perform quality performance of all services provided.
  • Deliver clean linen and pick up soiled linen to outlying clinics and hospital on a scheduled basis.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Laundry Worker (MVO) ~ without more than normal supervision. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Perform work on hard surfaces in work areas that require stooping, bending, and standing for prolonged periods. Lifting and pushing. Wearing protective clothing, masks, and gowns. Working Conditions: High heat and humidity during the summer, cold and drafty during the winter. Occasionally inadequate lighting. Exposure to these conditions are infrequent and never for any prolonged periods.
