Job Title: Lead Data Scientist

What you’ll do for us

  • Own End to end discovery, design, configuration, testing and deployment of analytical models and communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify relevant internal and external data sources. Recommend and oversee appropriate statistical, ML and predictive modeling concepts
  • Apply a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, regression, ensemble, neural nets, time series, optimizations etc.) to their real-world advantages/drawbacks
  • Analyse, tune, and improve existing production forecasting systems to enhance forecast accuracy and reliability. This includes diagnosing sources of forecast error, identifying opportunities for model/parameter improvements, and making data-driven changes while maintaining production stability.
  • Ability to understand, explain, and defend existing forecasts to customers, including clearly articulating the key drivers, assumptions, methodology, and process through which forecast numbers are generated. Should be able to translate complex forecasting concepts into clear business language and confidently address customer questions or challenges.
  • Develop and deploy models for advanced models for demand planning/forecasting/sensing
  • Design and build innovative models for revenue management and commercial planning
  • Work on Market Intelligence, optimization (Heuristic, LP, GA etc), Anomaly detection, Simulation and stochastic models, etc.
  • Use latest advancements in AI/ML to solve business problems
  • Application of common business metrics and the ability to generate new ones as needed
  • Work collaboratively with Clients, Project Managrs, Solution Architects, Consultants and Data Engineers to ensure successful delivery of o9 projects
  • Guide junior data scientists and oversee their activities to ensure proper alignment/execution of their activities and maintain high coding standards and best practices within organization.

What you’ll have

Experience: 5+ years of experience in the field of Data Science and Analytics, experience in time series forecasting will be good to have

Education: Master’s Degree. Degrees in the following fields: Operations Research, Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or related fields (including Supply Chain Engineering).

Skills:

  • Strong programming skills and experience in using Python/Pyspark for Data Science
  • Strong analytical techniques, data mining knowledge and proficiency in handling and processing large amounts of data is needed
  • Deep Knowledge of statistical and machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience in time series forecasting in scale using heuristic based hierarchical best-fit models using algorithms like exponential smoothing, ARIMA, prophet and custom parameter tuning
  • Experience in building scalable ML frameworks for demand sensing including identifying and collecting relevant input data, feature engineering, tuning and testing.
  • Experience in price elasticity models, price optimization, market mix modelling and trade promo optimization
  • Experience in applied analytical methods in the field of Supply chain and planning, like demand planning, supply planning, market intelligence, optimal assortments/pricing/inventory etc.
  • Strong presentation and communications skills with ability to communicate complex analytical or
  • Technical concepts to audiences with limited analytical or technical background.

Characteristics

● Experience with SQL, databases and ETL tools or similar is optional but preferred

● Exposure to distributed data/computing tools: Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, or

related Big Data technologies

● Experience with Deep Learning frameworks such as Keras, Tensorflow or PyTorch is preferable

● Experience in implementing planning applications will be a plus

● Understanding of Supply Chain Concepts will be preferable.
