Lead Guide

Slope School | Full-Time | $60,000 + Benefits

Join a school reimagining education

Slope School is building a different kind of learning environment—one where students take ownership of their learning, families are deeply aligned with the mission, and educators are trusted as professionals.

We are looking for early-career educators who want to learn quickly, take on meaningful responsibility, and develop into exceptional teachers.

About the Role

A Lead Guide takes primary responsibility for a studio of students: their learning, culture, progress, and day-to-day experience.

This role is designed for an accomplished educator with 5+ years of teaching experience who can independently lead a classroom while continually improving their own practice.

What You’ll Do

Lead a studio and create an environment where students are engaged, challenged, and increasingly independent

Facilitate discussions, project-based learning, and core academic work

Track student progress and use data to coach students toward ambitious goals

Build a strong studio culture centered on ownership, respect, and accountability

Develop thoughtful learning experiences, projects, and exhibitions

Build strong relationships and communicate effectively with families

Support and mentor less-experienced Guides

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of teaching experience

Bachelor’s degree or formal teaching qualification

Demonstrated ability to lead a classroom effectively

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

High ownership and an “at-cause” mindset

Strong judgment, organization, and follow-through

Ability to combine warmth with high expectations and accountability

Why Slope?

Slope gives excellent educators significant autonomy without the bureaucracy common in larger school systems. Guides focus on coaching, discussion, and meaningful learning—not grading stacks of papers or assigning homework. You’ll work closely with a strong team and families who have actively chosen and believe in our educational model.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting at $60,000 + benefits , with compensation dependent on experience. Benefits include a health stipend, tuition benefits for children, generous PTO, and paid school vacations.
