Job Description

Join the Alpine F1 Team – Lead Mechanical Design Engineer Opportunity

Are you ready to accelerate your career with a dynamic and innovative F1 team? We have a fantastic opportunity for an exceptionally talented Lead Design Engineer to join our Suspension Design group within the Engineering Office at Enstone. This position will play a crucial role in helping us push for podiums and race wins.

Our team is dedicated to engineering excellence, pushing the boundaries of technology and optimising performance to achieve our goals. We are built on collaboration and mutual support, fostering a vibrant, inclusive culture where your ideas and contributions are valued.

The role of our Lead Mechanical Design Engineers:

Reporting to the Head of Mechanical, you will lead your team both technically and managerially, taking ownership of performance delivery to the car year-on-year, using engineering excellence. You will also support your team to grow and develop, ensuring that their competencies and capabilities align with business goals and expectations.

Your challenge:

Work with the Head of Section and other Heads of Department to determine technical requirements.

Take ownership of Detailed Design Specifications and Project plans.

Carry-out conceptual work, defining the key project parameters based on external input, your own simulation outcomes and 3D modelling.

Lead a group of engineers to deliver on schedule, on budget, and within constraints, escalating technical or resource conflicts that threaten agreed targets.

Approve the work of reports as a fundamental part of the design process.

Who we want:

We are looking to enhance our talented team with someone who has previous experience within a similar senior role, ideally within F1 or another high-level motorsport. You should be educated to degree level or equivalent within Engineering and have a good base knowledge of manufacturing techniques and latest materials technology. It would be ideal if you had previous CAD experience with Catia V5/3DX, but we will support with training if NX or similar is your expertise.

We need someone who is self-motivated, capable of working with minimal supervision, and has a hands-on approach to deliver high-quality designs to set deadlines. Great collaborative skills and attention to detail are essential.

This role is pivotal within our Mechanical Design leadership. We seek someone committed to mentoring and developing junior engineers, nurturing them to become the next generation of F1 experts.

What we offer you in return:

Working for Alpine F1 Team, you will work with top professionals, directly impacting race car performance on a global stage, and enjoy our state-of-the-art facilities. We offer competitive remuneration packages, private medical healthcare, access to a free on-site gym, a subsidised restaurant and many more additional benefits. Additionally, the thrill of pioneering innovation in Formula One racing provides numerous career development opportunities in a collaborative, inclusive environment.
