As a Lead Member of Technical Staff on the Residential Gateway Operations Engineering team, you will help shape the future of broadband service assurance for one of the world's largest telecommunications networks.

In this role, you'll design and build intelligent platforms that leverage large-scale telemetry, advanced analytics, AI, and automation to proactively identify software defects, detect customer-impacting issues, accelerate root cause analysis, and automate remediation across millions of residential gateways. You'll work at the intersection of software engineering, distributed systems, cloud-scale analytics, and AI-powered operations to improve broadband customer experience while driving operational efficiency at scale.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and develop software platforms that ingest, analyze, and act on telemetry from millions of residential broadband devices.
  • Build AI-enabled applications and operational workflows utilizing LLMs, agents, and machine intelligence to improve troubleshooting, analysis, and decision-making.
  • Create large-scale analytics and automation solutions that identify software defects, operational anomalies, and emerging customer-impacting issues before they become widespread incidents.
  • Develop automated root cause analysis capabilities that correlate network, device, software, and customer experience data across complex ecosystems.
  • Design and implement automated remediation solutions that safely resolve known issues with minimal human intervention.
  • Partner with engineering, product, software development, operations, and vendor teams to improve platform reliability, software quality, and customer experience.
  • Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions for next-generation operational intelligence and autonomous operations platforms.

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong software engineering and systems engineering experience building large-scale, distributed applications and platforms.
  • Proficiency in Python and modern software development practices, including APIs, data pipelines, testing, CI/CD, and cloud-native development.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable automation solutions for operational or customer-facing environments.
  • Experience developing applications that leverage AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), agents, retrieval systems, or related AI frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, observability, telemetry collection, event processing, and operational monitoring.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business and operational challenges into scalable engineering solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM discipline.

What You'll Need :

  • Experience building AI-powered tools that improve operational efficiency, automate workflows, or enhance decision support.
  • Knowledge of large-scale telemetry analytics, streaming data platforms, data engineering, or data science techniques.
  • Experience developing platforms that support fault detection, anomaly detection, predictive analytics, or automated remediation.
  • Familiarity with broadband, networking, Wi-Fi, residential gateways, connected devices, or telecommunications environments.
  • Experience working across multiple disciplines to influence technical direction and drive complex initiatives from concept through deployment.
  • Passion for solving large-scale engineering problems that directly improve customer experience.
  • A builder's mindset, intellectual curiosity, and a desire to help create the next generation of autonomous operations capabilities.
