We now specialize in sprinkler system testing, repair and installation , kitchen and restaurant systems , fire alarm design, installation and service , backflow prevention devices , full service alarm monitoring , fire pump repair and installation , and underground hydrant repairs and installation , among the many services we offer .

The Lead Installation Security Technician is primarily responsible for installing, servicing and replacing alarm, camera, and access systems. A desired candidate is fully confident in their installation and programming skills, works effectively and professionally with little supervision, has management and leadership ability with his team, excellent communication skills, and is consistently looking out for the customer’s best interest. Lead Technicians may be assigned to either the service or installation team but will need to have experience and expertise in both.

Responsibilities

Install security systems per provided job scopes and drawings

Install and service access control systems

Install and service IP based camera systems

Install and service alarm systems

Work efficiently as a lead technician on the team to install systems

Responsible for reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints

Effectively communicate equipment issues and potential solutions on work performed to customers

Explain and train customers in effective utilization of equipment and/or systems

Efficiently and accurately update and complete customer files, including but not limited to customer contacts, work orders, parts utilized, and work performed

Promptly and professionally respond to customers’ questions and concerns

Understand and maintain compliance with company and customer safety program

Maintain all applicable certifications for necessary products serviced by company

Ability to lead, train, mentor and/ or coach less experienced technicians

Perform other related duties as assigned or required

Requirements

Valid driver’s license

Authorized to work in the USA

High School Diploma/ GED

5+ years prior security work experience

Commercial experience

Able to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, after-hours, nights, and weekends, to meet customer needs. Generally, 7:00AM – 4:00PM, Monday to Friday.

Able to travel to multiple job sites each day

Must obtain a DPS Fingerprint card and an Alarm Agent License for the State of Arizona within the 90-day probationary period and keep it current throughout employment at Metro Fire.

Able to lift, carry, and move tools and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.

Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

Fully proficient in alarm, access control and IP camera systems

Access control installation and servicing experience – knowledge in S2 and Brivo a plus

Experience with installation of controller, reader, contact, REX and electrified door hardware

Commercial alarm system installation & servicing experience – knowledge in DMP, Honeywell and DSC systems a plus

Camera system installation & servicing experience, including network camera systems – knowledge in Exacq, Wave VMS a plus

CAT5/6 network termination skills

High precision/ detail-oriented

Professional verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently, with little supervision

Ability to lead a team in larger jobs

Works effectively and efficiently while performing all aspects of the required job
