Job Responsibilities and Requirements

A recognized technical expert and senior individual contributor who designs and leads the most complex, high-risk technical work while remaining deeply hands-on. The incumbent personally analyzes and resolves the most difficult technical and production problems, applies advanced specialized knowledge to evaluate alternatives and make recommendations, and establishes standards, reference designs, and reusable patterns. The role provides technical direction across multiple systems, platforms, or teams; reviews high-impact designs; mentors other engineers; and influences roadmaps and technical priorities. The incumbent exercises substantial discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance, performs sustained computer-based technical work, and partners with management on planning, delivery, and technical risk. This role is not administrative or governance-only; it remains among the deepest technical experts in the discipline while extending into broader authority and influence.

Key Responsibilities

Designs and leads the most complex, high-risk technical initiatives, remaining hands-on in architecture, design, development, and problem-solving rather than serving in a governance-only capacity

Owns technical direction for complex applications, platforms, products, or domains, making and defending significant architecture and design decisions

Personally analyzes and resolves the most difficult technical and production problems, including issues that cross systems or lack an established solution

Establishes engineering standards, reference designs, reusable patterns, and technical practices, and drives their adoption across the team or discipline

Reviews high-impact designs from other engineers and provides technical direction and guidance across multiple systems, platforms, or teams

Drives technical alignment across interconnected domains and partner teams, resolving competing technical approaches and dependencies

Shapes technical approaches for modernization and long-term sustainability, and establishes practices that improve reliability, maintainability, supportability, and operational resilience

Advances the adoption of AI-assisted engineering and AI-enabled delivery practices and helps establish responsible-AI standards for the team

Mentors engineers, influences roadmaps and technical priorities, and evaluates alternatives to make recommendations to leadership on matters of significance

Partners with management to inform planning, milestones, and delivery, and provides early visibility into technical risks, tradeoffs, and mitigation options

  • Serves as a trusted technical advisor, applies deep knowledge of the business and its products to align solutions with strategic objectives, and engages in high-priority production and incident escalations as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

or equivalent experience gained from any combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work and life experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

8+ years of experience in database programming; writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, packages, and triggers using PL/SQL.

Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle E-Business Suite architecture, including deep functional and technical competency across core modules, proven ability to support complex implementations, integrations, upgrades, and production operations, and demonstrated expertise in applying Oracle EBS capabilities to meet enterprise business requirements.

  • Prior experience developing applications using .NET/C# preferred.
  • Working knowledge of financial and accounting principles, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and financial reporting processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with banking system integrations and related interface requirements.
  • Expert proficiency across one or more technology stacks (e.g., Java, C#/.NET, JavaScript/React) with strong system and data design skills

Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and resolve the most difficult technical and production problems

Experience establishing standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns

Ability to provide technical direction across multiple systems, platforms, or teams and to exercise substantial discretion and independent judgment on significant matters

Strong mentoring, influence, and communication skills across technical and business audiences

Deep understanding of performance, reliability, security, and integration considerations

Deep understanding of the business and its products and how solutions support strategic objectives

Ability to concentrate and perform sustained, detailed computer-based work for the majority of the workday

Availability to engage in high-priority production and incident escalations as needed

Ability to Travel: Up to 10%

  • The expected hiring range for this position is $127,440.00 - $170,120.00 annually for work performed in the primary location (Philadelphia, PA). This expected hiring range covers only base pay and excludes any other compensation components such as commissions or incentive awards. The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be based on several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
  • Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
