Eliada Homes , a historical fixture within Western North Carolina since 1903, is one Asheville's longest running nonprofits. Our beautiful 300+ acre campus provides a cradle to career continuum of services for over 600 children and youth annually. Child Development staff work with children up to 5 years of age providing them with services which focus on social, emotional, cognitive, and motor development while integrating life-skills into our daily activities and lessons.

Early Childhood Lead Teachers assume primary role in designing and implementing activity plans, record-keeping, care and supervision of children in the classroom, communicating with parents and administrative staff, and delegates appropriate duties and responsibilities to teacher and teacher’s assistant.
What you'll be doing:
- Write and implement daily/weekly lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate for children in care.
- Meet children’s physical, emotional, and educational needs through close supervision, observation, and supportive one-on-one and group interactions.
- Assist the Director in creating service plans for children with special needs.
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date classroom records and documentation.
- Communicate with administrative staff to ensure licensing, safety, and sanitation standards are consistently upheld.
Requirements
Education/Experience: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood , or currently enrolled in this program, is required for this position. Comparable degrees include, but not limited to, Psychology, Social Work, and Elementary Education.
