Leasing Consultant

Location: The Summit at Hendersonville | Flat Rock, NC

Summary

The Leasing Consultant serves as the first point of contact for prospective and current residents and is responsible for all leasing activities from lead generation through lease execution and renewals. This position promotes resident satisfaction through excellent customer service, effective communication, and relationship building. Flexibility to work weekends and some holidays is required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Manage the leasing process from lead generation through lease signing and renewals.

Respond to and follow up on all leads from phone, walk-ins, internet inquiries, referrals, and marketing efforts.

Conduct property tours, answer questions, and identify prospective resident needs.

Communicate the value of the community and successfully close leases and renewals.

Monitor and follow up on pending renewal offers.

Build and maintain positive relationships with prospects and residents.

Address resident concerns and service requests professionally and efficiently.

Assist with resident events and retention initiatives.

Participate in outreach marketing and social media efforts.

Maintain awareness of local market conditions and competitors.

Prepare and process leasing documents accurately and timely.

Support administrative functions as assigned by community leadership, including basic accounting and payroll-related tasks.

Maintain professionalism and effectively manage multiple priorities.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong sales, customer service, and communication skills.

Self-motivated with attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Ability to meet leasing and occupancy goals.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Strong organizational, follow-up, and multitasking abilities.

Professional demeanor with a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

Previous leasing, sales, or customer service experience preferred.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Six months to one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language, Math & Reasoning Skills

Ability to prepare reports and correspondence, communicate effectively with residents and the public, perform basic mathematical calculations, and carry out written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and communicate effectively. Occasionally required to reach, bend, crouch, climb, and lift up to 10 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment

Primarily works in an on-site leasing office with regular movement throughout the community. Noise level is generally moderate.
