Legal Consultant - LNG, Trading and Shipping

Axiom is looking to hire a LNG, Trading and Shipping Legal Consultant to work with one of our Fortune 500 clients. This is a hands-on legal role supporting a busy and growing LNG business across Asia. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day legal support across LNG contracting, trading activities, shipping, and LNG infrastructure projects , working closely with commercial and trading teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role is focused on substantive legal work rather than people management . It would suit a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working directly with the business, handling complex and time-sensitive matters, and providing practical legal advice in a trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day legal support to the LNG Supply, Trading and Shipping business across Asia.

Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of LNG and energy-related commercial agreements .

Provide legal support for LNG trading activities, including advising on contractual, commercial, and risk-related matters.

Advise on LNG supply, sale and purchase, transportation, shipping, and related trading arrangements .

Provide legal guidance on LNG infrastructure and development projects, including reviewing and negotiating project-related documentation.

Work closely with commercial, trading, shipping, project, and other business stakeholders to identify and manage legal and contractual risks.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be an experienced commercial lawyer with strong experience in LNG, commodities, energy trading, projects, or infrastructure .

10+ years experience in the particular field

Significant experience in one or more of the following areas:

LNG

Commodities trading

Energy

Projects and infrastructure

Shipping or related energy-sector transactions

Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.

Ability to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to a sophisticated business.

Comfortable working on multiple matters simultaneously and prioritising effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Able to work independently and take ownership of matters from start to finish
