HeyMilo Labs | Remote | Independent Contractor | $40–$100 per hour

HeyMilo Labs is looking for experienced legal professionals to participate in paid, recorded conversations with other professionals who have similar backgrounds. You’ll discuss topics within your legal expertise, debate practical questions, and explain the reasoning behind your perspective.

These conversations will help train and evaluate AI systems.

What you’ll do

Discuss topics such as commercial contracts, employment law, corporate governance, privacy, or intellectual property, depending on your expertise.

Debate how to approach a fictional legal scenario, weigh competing interpretations, and explain practical tradeoffs.

Defend your perspective with clear reasoning and relevant examples.

Respectfully challenge another participant’s assumptions, ask follow-up questions, and respond to counterarguments.

Use fictional or anonymized examples that avoid confidential or privileged information.

What we’re looking for

Professional experience as an attorney, legal counsel, paralegal, or in another substantive legal role.

Strong domain knowledge in at least one legal specialty.

Fluent spoken communication in the language of the session.

The ability to sustain a substantive, unscripted discussion and explain complex ideas clearly.

Careful listening and a willingness to reconsider your position when presented with a compelling argument.

Professional acting experience is optional. Domain expertise and conversational ability are essential.

The next step

Following an initial screening, selected applicants will be invited to a paid, recorded conversation with another legal professional who has a similar background. You’ll discuss a topic within your shared expertise, with opportunities to debate, defend a position, and challenge each other’s reasoning.

Compensation and recording

Pay is $40–$100 per hour. The rate, expected time commitment, and recording-use and licensing terms will be shared before you accept an assignment. Recordings may be licensed to AI developers for training and evaluation under the agreed terms.

You’ll need a quiet environment, reliable internet, a clear microphone, and a webcam. Be comfortable appearing on video with your face visible and filters and background blur turned off.

How to apply

Share your professional background, legal specialties, jurisdiction, availability, time zone, and spoken languages.
