Local CDL Driver

Are you a safety-conscious driver looking for a stable, full-time career with great pay, benefits, and the chance to be home every night? Mason County Garbage , a Waste Connections Company, is looking for a reliable and motivated CDL Driver to join our team in Shelton, WA.

Previous waste industry experience is a big plus—but not required. We’re happy to train the right person!

The schedule is Monday–Friday, starting at 6 AM , and occasional Saturdays as needed. You’ll average about 45 hours per week (overtime eligible) and be home every night!

The starting pay range for this position is $27.75/hour with annual pay increases and bonus opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• •Safely operate a garbage truck on designated routes to collect solid waste. Waste experience is preferred but not required.
• •Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
• •Perform routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles, including checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
• •Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
• •Interact courteously with customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort :

• •Requires extensive physical activity, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 50 pounds.
• •Work environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts, requiring basic safety precautions.
• •Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including frequent wet and/or humid environments, as well as fumes and vibrations.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• •Valid Class A CDL preferred, Class B acceptable
• •Clean driving record (please bring a copy of your MVR to the in-person interview)
• •Ability to operate 10-, 13-, and 18-speed transmissions (preferred, not required)
• •Minimum 1 year of relevant driving experience
• •Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• •High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• •Safety-Sensitive – YES
