Job Description

Position Summary

As a Logistics Change Planner at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will support the coordination and implementation of Bill of Materials (BOM) changes across our operations. You will help ensure that materials, planning information and priorities are aligned with production needs and customer demand.

Working closely with colleagues in Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Production and external suppliers, you will help coordinate approved changes, follow up on outstanding actions and support smooth transitions between existing and new materials.

This is a varied, hands-on role where organisation and prioritisation are essential. With approximately 100 active changes in progress at any given time, you will need to manage multiple tasks, identify priorities and ensure activities continue to move forwards.

You will report to the Operational Planning Supervisor and work closely with teams across the organisation. The role is site-based and may occasionally involve working in our cleanroom, providing cover for colleagues when required. We welcome early-career candidates for this role, also.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate approved engineering and BOM changes, working closely with Planning, Production, Engineering, Sourcing, Service, R&D and external suppliers.
  • Review incoming change requests, identify required actions and help prioritise activities based on production and material requirements.
  • Support the planning of material phase-in and phase-out activities to minimise disruption to production and customer deliveries.
  • Communicate upcoming changes to suppliers, buyers, planners and production teams, ensuring relevant stakeholders receive the necessary information.
  • Review open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers and buyers on any adjustments required, due to engineering changes.
  • Help identify potential costs related to obsolete materials, scrap and rework, and support the approval process where needed.
  • Maintain accurate planning data and material information in the ERP system.
  • Follow up on change-related issues, including supplier enquiries, pricing discrepancies and material availability, involving the appropriate colleagues to resolve them.
  • Track ongoing changes, follow up on outstanding actions and help ensure activities are completed on time.
  • Contribute ideas for improving daily processes and ways of working within the planning function.

Requirements

  • Education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or a related field, or relevant practical experience.
  • We welcome candidates in the early stages of their careers who are eager to learn and develop.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage a dynamic workload.
  • A proactive, analytical and solution-oriented mindset, with an interest in continuous improvement.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across different departments and external suppliers
  • Fluent written and spoken English skills. At least some Dutch language skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems, BOM structures or material planning would be an advantage .

What We Offer

  • A varied and collaborative role: Work with colleagues across different departments and external suppliers, gaining insight into how our operations work together.
  • High-learning environment with continuous skills development opportunities
