About the Role
Lola Blankets is a fast-growing comfort and lifestyle brand on a mission to make the world a cozier place. We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to establish world-class import and logistics capabilities. Lola wants to rebuild its entire transportation network to establish strong relationships with freight forwarders, create strong operational and logistical processes, manage import, duty, and documentation compliance, and make receiving at warehouses run smoothly. You will ensure that Lola Accounting has the easy ability to review or audit any single shipment. You will partner closely with Lola’s vendors, Production team, and Warehouse teams to own the product's journey from ex-factory to in-stock.
Core Responsibilities
Transportation & Logistics Management
Design and build Lola’s inbound transportation network and processes, from ex-factory to warehouse dock
Decide routing and port strategy (West Coast vs. East Coast, transload vs. direct, etc.) for each Lola warehouse
Define clear roles and handoffs between vendors, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and Lola warehouses
Establish and maintain strong forwarder relationships, managing day-to-day operations including regular shipments, scorecards, QBRs, and escalations
Negotiate ocean rates, contract allocations, peak-season space, drayage, and accessorials
Partner with Finance, Production, and Planning to ensure strong terms and payment compliance
Establish accurate dashboarding and reporting of costs and service levels over time; own those budgets and results
Import Compliance & Duty
Own importer-of-record compliance in every market we import into: customs brokers, bonds, ISF, entries and duty payment
Own HTS classification, country-of-origin documentation, valuation and duty rate accuracy
Maintain all import documentation and product compliance documentation; keep audit-ready records and respond to any customs holds, exams, or inquiries
Processes & Documentation
Own the inbound playbook: booking, documentation, tracking, reporting, exceptions, claims
Maintain accurate shipment visibility from ex-factory to stock, with tracking in our systems and clear ETAs for the business to plan around
Keep a clean record for every shipment so Accounting can review or audit anything
Warehouse Receiving
Partner with our 3PL warehouses on appointment scheduling, dock capacity and receiving SLAs
Plan container flow around seasonal peaks so receiving keeps up with demand
Resolve any issues: delays, damage, shortages, and discrepancies
Track ex-factory to in-stock lead time and drive it down

6+ years in international logistics or import operations, with at least 3 years’ experience managing ocean freight from Asia at scale for a US importer brand
