Logistics Material Handler I
Tempe, AZ
Pay: $21.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
At nVent's Tempe Distribution Center, the Logistics Material Handler plays a key role in ensuring materials are received, organized, moved, and shipped accurately to support customer orders and production operations. This position works closely with warehouse, shipping, and production teams to maintain inventory flow, support on-time deliveries, and keep the facility organized and operating efficiently. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work, attention to detail, and working in a fast-paced distribution environment.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Receive incoming shipments by verifying packing lists and inspecting materials for accuracy.
- Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility to support shipping and operational needs.
- Organize and store inventory in designated warehouse locations to maintain material accuracy and accessibility.
- Distribute materials to shipping stations to ensure customer orders are processed on schedule.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
- Maintain outdoor pallet staging areas, waste collection areas, and overall warehouse housekeeping standards.
- Identify and communicate inventory, shipping, quality, or equipment issues to appropriate personnel.
- Support a safe work environment by following company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
YOU HAVE:
Education Requirement
High School Diploma or GED required
Years of Experience
- 1+ years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, or material handling experience preferred
- Previous forklift experience is a plus
Skills
- Inventory and material handling
- Shipping and receiving documentation
- Basic computer and math skills
- Strong attention to detail and organization
Abilities to Meet Physical and Environmental Demands
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate material handling equipment, including forklifts
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and frequent material movement
