Low Voltage Cabling Technician

• Position Summary:
• We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Low Voltage Cabling Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems. This role supports commercial and industrial projects involving data, voice, security, and audiovisual systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• •Install, terminate, label, and test low voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, coax)
• •Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications
• •Install cable pathways including conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, and sleeves
• •Perform cable testing using certification tools (Fluke or equivalent)
• •Troubleshoot connectivity issues and perform repairs as needed
• •Maintain accurate documentation of installations and service work
• •Ensure all work meets industry standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI) and company quality expectations
• •Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
• •Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades on job sites

Requirements

Qualifications:

• •1–3+ years of experience in low voltage cabling or related field
• •Knowledge of structured cabling systems and installation practices
• •Experience terminating RJ45 jacks, patch panels, and fiber (preferred)
• •Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams
• •Familiarity with cable testing and certification equipment
• •Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Physical Requirements:

• •Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• •Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and in tight spaces
• •Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications:

• •BICSI certification (Installer or Technician)
• •OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
• •Experience with access control, CCTV, or VoIP systems

Work Environment:

• •Construction sites, commercial buildings, and office environments
• •May require travel to job sites
• •Occasional evening or weekend work based on project needs
