[What the role is]

SENIOR/ EXECUTIVE GIS & TECHNOLOGY ENGINEER

[What you will be working on]

Would you like to apply GIS, data and technology skills to solve real-world traffic and road operational challenges in Singapore?

As a GIS & Technology Engineer in the Integrated Operations & Technology (IO&T) team, you will help develop and implement technology-enabled solutions to support the planning, operations and maintenance of Singapore’s road network.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team working across GIS, data, application development, automation and emerging technologies. The role provides opportunities to work on a diverse range of projects — from developing geospatial applications and dashboards, improving data and operational workflows, to prototyping new digital solutions and exploring the use of AI and other technologies.

You will work closely with teams across LTA to understand operational challenges and translate business requirements into practical technology solutions. Depending on the project, this may involve managing and analysing geospatial data, developing applications and dashboards, coding and automation, integrating datasets and systems, conducting Proof-of-Concepts (POCs), and supporting the operationalisation of successful solutions.

You will also have opportunities to collaborate with other Government agencies, industry partners and academia to explore new technologies and approaches. You should be curious, adaptable and willing to learn, with an interest in using technology to improve the way we work.

[What we are looking for]

We are looking for an all-rounder with a strong interest in GIS and technology who is comfortable working across different projects and learning new tools where required. Prior experience in the transport domain is not required.

Knowledge in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Geography, Geospatial Science, Engineering or a related discipline

Relevant knowledge or hands-on experience in GIS, software development, data analytics, data engineering or other related technology fields

Familiar with at least one technical area such as:

- GIS platforms and geodatabases, such as ArcGIS / QGIS;

- Programming or scripting using Python, JavaScript, R or similar languages;

- Relational databases and SQL; or

- Web/application development and APIs

Good analytical and problem-solving skills and are able to translate operational problems into practical solutions

Willing and able to pick up new technologies and technical skills as project needs evolve

Able to work independently while being a collaborative team player, and are comfortable working with colleagues from different technical and business backgrounds

Good communication and interpersonal skills and are able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

The Nice-to-Haves

At least 3 years of working experience

Experience developing GIS applications, web applications, dashboards or other digital tools

Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro or other geospatial technologies

Experience in Python scripting, geoprocessing or workflow automation

Experience working with APIs, relational/spatial databases or system integration

Exposure to cloud technologies, AI/LLMs, computer vision or rapid application development tools

Experience in data governance, data modelling, data quality or management of geospatial datasets

Experience conducting POCs, prototyping solutions or translating user requirements into working applications

Experience or interest in transport, traffic operations, road infrastructure or asset management

Fresh graduates in the listed disciplines with strong technical foundations, relevant projects or internship experience, and a keen interest in GIS and technology-enabled problem solving are welcome to apply.

As part of the shortlisting process for the role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and / or undergo further assessment
