Maintenance Director – New Castle Nursing & Rehab and Twin Oaks Assisted Living | New Castle, KY

  • Pay: $28–$30 per hour, based on experience
  • Job type: Full-time
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, with on-call responsibility for building emergencies at both communities

Lead the team that keeps our residents’ homes safe.

New Castle Nursing & Rehab, a CMS Five-Star rated facility, and Twin Oaks Assisted Living are seeking a hands-on, compliance-minded Maintenance Director. Our residents call these communities home. You’ll keep their surroundings safe, comfortable, and survey-ready, and you’ll lead a small team that takes pride in the work.

We want someone who will make the department better, not just keep it running. That means working on the tools and keeping the paperwork current, and working well with every department, our residents, and their families.

What you’ll do

  • Perform and direct repairs on building systems, equipment, and grounds at both communities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, call lights, and resident beds.
  • Keep both buildings survey-ready for CMS, state, and fire marshal inspections, including Life Safety Code, required testing, drills, and inspection logs.
  • Run the electronic work order and preventive maintenance system, and keep records organized and ready for surveyors.
  • Supervise and train the Maintenance Assistant, and set clear priorities for the department.
  • Manage vendors, bids, and capital projects, and help oversee the maintenance budget and supplies.
  • Respond to building emergencies and serve as the on-call lead.
  • Treat residents, families, and coworkers with patience, courtesy, and respect.

What makes you a strong fit

  • Hands-on skill: Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Compliance mindset: Experience with Life Safety Code, CMS or state surveys, and OSHA.
  • Computer skills: Comfortable with email, spreadsheets, and electronic work-order software.
  • Improvement-minded: You fix problems for good and look for ways to improve how the department runs.
  • Good demeanor and teamwork: You stay calm under pressure and work well across departments.
  • Reliable and dependable: You show up, follow through, and answer the call when there’s a building emergency.
  • Physical ability: You can lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, access attics, and work in tight spaces, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience, including supervisory experience; healthcare or senior living strongly preferred
  • Preferred: EPA 608, HVAC or electrical credentials, or CHFM/CHSP certification
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Retirement plan options
  • Opportunities for professional growth
  • Supportive, mission-driven work environment
