About the Job:

The practice of mammography is performed by a segment of health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. Independently performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and/or practice standards and/or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam.

What You’ll Do:

• •Performs mammography procedures based on the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) “Mammography Practice Standards” and the ASRT “Code of Ethics”
• •Understands and adheres to departmental exam protocols
• •Actively participates in quality control and quality assurance activities using the “APIE” model.
• •Performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and/or practice standards and/or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam
• •Performs screening and diagnostic mammography exams based on institutional policies and/or practice standards and/or follows the directive of the interpreting physician to assist in the completion of the mammography exam
• •Assists the interpreting physician as directed when involved with diagnostic procedures in breast imaging

Who You Are:

• •Successful completion of an accredited Radiological Technologist program, Required
• •3-5 years of experience as a radiologic technologist, Preferred
• •Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Required.
• •Certified by ARRT in Mammography, Required
• •Ability to obtain BLS during employment
