Job Description:
Role overview
MKTG Sports & Entertainment are looking for an experienced, hands-on Manager, Amplification (PR & Content) to join our growing Content & Creative team.
This role is about helping to shape our clients’ stories on their owned channels, then driving visibility far beyond them. You will run day-to-day PR delivery – pitching stories, landing coverage and lining up interviews – while helping plan content for campaigns across major brand partnerships in sport, and taking it further through publishers and creators.
This role reports into the Business Director, Amplification, based in our London office.
Key responsibilities
PR
- Write and sell in press releases, pitches and briefing materials, landing coverage across national, sports, trade and consumer media.
- Line up and manage interviews for talent, ambassadors and spokespeople, from briefing to on-the-day support.
- Spot reactive opportunities and support press activity at events and shoots.
- Build media lists, then track and report on coverage using Muck Rack or similar.
Creator identification & management
- Source and vet creators who fit each brand and campaign.
- Manage creator outreach, briefing and approvals, working closely with the creative and account teams.
- Track creator performance and recommend what to do next.
Content planning & distribution
- Contribute to content planning for client campaigns — from content series to activations around key moments — working alongside the creative and account teams who lead on these.
- Feed in ideas, formats and hooks, with a particular eye for content that travels.
- Own the amplification plan: how content reaches beyond owned channels, through publishers, partners and creators.
- Report on content performance and feed learnings into the next plan.
Stakeholder collaboration
- Align timings, formats and assets with clients’ social teams and agencies, including those within the Dentsu group.
- Manage content calendars and scheduling with delivery partners.
- Keep deliverables, deadlines and approvals on track across clients, rights holders and publishers.
- Support the Business Director in presenting plans and results.
What we’re looking for
You are a confident PR practitioner who loves the craft of getting a story placed and has a strong instinct for content that travels. You are excited by working on high-profile sponsorship accounts, comfortable juggling multiple stakeholders, and happiest when you are rolling your sleeves up and making things happen.
Essential
- Prior hands-on PR experience, ideally agency-side, in sport, entertainment or consumer brands.
- A track record of securing coverage and interviews.
- Experience with Muck Rack, Cision, Meltwater or similar, including coverage reporting.
- Experience identifying and working with creators.
- A strong instinct for compelling content and how it travels across social and publisher channels.
- Organised, confident with multiple stakeholders, and a strong writer.
Desirable
- Sports, consumer or trade media contacts.
- Experience working with football clubs or other rights holders.
- Experience with creator identification tools such as Sprout Social or CreatorIQ.
- A genuine interest in sport.
