This role would support the Bruce Portfolio which is a Volaris Group Portfolio of global businesses supporting Supply Chain & Retail, Security, Compliance, and South Africa.

The Manager, Learning & Development, owns how leaders and employees across the Bruce Portfolio build capability, designing learning common enough to set a shared standard yet specific enough to be used locally.

The role utilizes Bruce Portfolio competency framework and Volaris best practices to develop leadership programs, successor development, manager enablement, curated learning in Skillsoft Percipio, learning aligned to Peakon results, and the measurement discipline behind it. This is an individual contributor role, scaled by portfolio reach rather than managerial span, equipping VBU HR Partners, managers, and internal facilitators to carry the work into their business units.

This is an individual contributor role, scaled by portfolio reach rather than managerial span, equipping VBU HR Partners, managers, and internal facilitators to carry the work into their business units.

Key Responsibilities

Own the design, build, and improvement of portfolio leadership programming, including framework-based cohort programs.

Design learning journeys for emerging leaders, people managers, senior leaders, and subject-matter experts.

Build targeted development for identified successors, closing readiness gaps against their target roles.

Facilitate live sessions with senior operating leaders and enable internal facilitators to extend capacity.

Curate the Skillsoft Percipio catalogue and build the supporting program materials.

Administer and improve Workday Talent, Skillsoft Percipio, and supporting learning systems.

Build the measurement model for capability: what skill level means, and which sources evidence it.

Partner with managers on the process and cadence by which they confirm skill assessments.

Report on participation, competency coverage, capability gaps, and program impact.

Supply learning inputs, including successor readiness, to the annual assessment and talent review cycle.

Drive adoption across autonomous business units, earning uptake through demonstrated value.

Write the internal communications that carry programs into the field for VBU HR Partners to deploy locally.

Advise general managers on capability gaps, development options, and build-versus-buy decisions.

Contribute L&D capability assessment and integration to M&A activity.

Ensure programs meet compliance and data-protection requirements across jurisdictions.

Support creation and development of global development events.

Qualifications

Required

Minimum of 3 with preference for 5+ years in learning, talent, or organizational development, with hands-on design and delivery.

Built a leadership development program end to end, with working fluency in a competency framework.

Measurable results from prior programs, evidenced in capability gains or successor readiness.

Hands-on LMS or LXP and HCM talent module administration, and we use Percipio and Workday so experience with these platforms is a plus.

Strong facilitation with senior audiences, strong business writing, and influence without authority.

Analytical rigor: builds models, interprets talent data, and defends a methodology.

AI fluency, applied to both personal capacity and learning design.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Ability to travel both domestically and internationally a least 40% of the time.

Preferred

Portfolio, private equity, or serial-acquirer environment, with M&A integration exposure.

Multi-country delivery, including regional compliance.

CPTD, SHRM-SCP, CHRL, or a recognized coaching or facilitation certification.
